Diiisco Green Agate Chandelier (2019)

Diiisco Green Agate Chandelier (2019) is a one-of-one sculptural light installation that merges natural mineral forms with futuristic disco-inspired geometry. Created by Miami-based artist Haiiileen, the piece embodies the artist’s ongoing exploration of color, energy, and reflective transformation through the medium of light.
Part of Haiiileen’s early experimentation in functional art and design, this chandelier reflects the convergence of her synesthetic light studies with her growing interest in architectural sculpture and ambient environments.

Diiisco Green Agate Chandelier (2019) is a hybrid between a traditional chandelier and a sculptural installation. The piece combines raw green agate stones with hand-cast resin and mirrored acrylic, creating a cascade of reflections and crystalline patterns that change throughout the day.

The work captures the fusion of organic and synthetic beauty, balancing the stillness of natural minerals with the pulsating light energy of a disco atmosphere. It was designed to function both as an illuminated centerpiece and a symbolic expression of emotional frequency — an ambient prism that radiates calm, focus, and vitality.

“I wanted to build something that felt alive — like the mineral itself was breathing light.” — Haiiileen

  • Nature Meets Future: Combining organic stone formations with reflective synthetic materials.
  • Emotional Color Theory: Exploring green as a symbol of balance, healing, and rebirth.
  • Functional Fine Art: Bridging installation, design, and everyday space.
  • Synesthetic Reflection: Translating vibrational energy into visible light patterns.
  • Central light core constructed from LED nodes encased in translucent resin.
  • Suspended reflective acrylic panels designed to amplify the chandelier’s light patterns.
  • Green agate stones positioned to filter illumination through natural veining.
  • Polished steel suspension frame to maintain balance and durability.
  • Color spectrum sequencing programmed for soft chromatic transitions.

“The Diiisco chandeliers were my first real dialogue between light and material — where the energy of natural elements met my synesthetic use of reflection.”

The Diiisco Green Agate Chandelier evolved from Haiiileen’s early fascination with disco aesthetics and the healing frequencies of color. It bridged her LightScapes (2018–2019) installations and her later architectural collaborations, laying the groundwork for the Nu-Wave Lamps (2024–2025) and other sculptural lighting bodies.

This work embodies the artist’s vision of transforming light into emotion, and everyday objects into vessels of frequency.

  • Transitional work linking LightScapes (2018–2019) and Haiii on Society (2020).
  • Introduced Diiisco Series, Haiiileen’s first body of functional light art.
  • Represents the merging of design, architecture, and fine art into one sensory language.
  • Marks early experimentation with natural materials and embedded color energy.
  • Influenced later works exploring mineral energy and color resonance (Prismatic Queen, Reflection, and ICU).

“Green is balance — it’s renewal, it’s breath. This chandelier was about finding stillness in radiance and grounding light into matter.”
