Haiii-Liiight- Ace Hotel DTLA (2019)

In 2019, Haiiileen transformed a space at Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles into an immersive, color-reactive environment titled HAIII LIIIGHT. The installation invited guests to experience light as an emotional frequency — a living pulse within the architecture.

Part of the artist’s ongoing exploration into synesthetic design, HAIII LIIIGHT fused hospitality, art, and energy work, creating a reflective sanctuary of color, geometry, and motion.

Haiii-liiight, “The study of the spectrum of visible light and their wavelength”  artist Haiiileen .. hand shaped and painted each individual acrylic sculptures, to create the representation of colors in their light wave patterns. Haiiileen has a focus on the gradients and color theory each individual sculpture to create a hypnotic and mesmerizing display.

HAIII LIIIGHT was a site-specific light sculpture designed to activate space through reflection, vibration, and chromatic movement. Installed inside the Ace Hotel, the work blended mirrored surfaces, LED configurations, and iridescent acrylic to create a responsive, ambient environment.

The piece evolved with the natural light of day — refracting soft tones in the morning and pulsing neon hues by night — transforming the space into a kinetic meditation on perception and emotion.

“Light is both a structure and a spirit. I wanted people to feel architecture as energy.” — Haiiileen

  • Light as Frequency: Visualizing the emotional spectrum through color and reflection.
  • Synesthetic Architecture: Translating sound and vibration into spatial light.
  • Public Immersion: Transforming hotel environments into living art experiences.
  • Healing Through Design: Using reflective symmetry and spectrum balance to promote calm and awareness.
  • Custom iridescent acrylic panels engineered for spectral reflection.
  • LED light network integrated with ambient sound patterns.
  • Mirror-based geometric wall and ceiling structures enhancing light refraction.
  • Chromatic diffusion filters that shift tone based on viewing angle.
  • Adaptive programming that altered color temperature across day/night cycles.

“I created HAIII LIIIGHT as a way to humanize light — to make it breathe with the same rhythm we do. It was a meditative dialogue between design and emotion.”

The installation blurred the boundary between art and architecture, establishing Haiiileen’s signature approach to environmental design as an emotional interface.

  • Marks Haiiileen’s first West Coast installation.
  • Expanded her practice from Miami-based projects into national hospitality art spaces.
  • Served as a precursor to Aura Reading (2024) and Solar Portals (2026 submission) exploring light as an environmental intelligence.
  • Strengthened her reputation in site-specific art for lifestyle and brand spaces.
  • Bridged the aesthetic lineage from LightScapes (2018) to HAIII on Society (2020).

“Every space has a vibration — light is how I tune it. HAIII LIIIGHT was about creating an emotional frequency that could live within architecture.”
