The Neo-Acid Share Station is a site-specific public art installation created by Haiiileen in partnership with Miami Community Fridge and Buddy System MIA. Designed as a sculptural, light-coated refrigerator, the work blends humanitarian action with Haiiileen’s neo-acid aesthetic — transforming a functional community fridge into an illuminated portal of color, generosity, and shared resources. The project activates Miami’s network of mutual-aid fridges, blending synesthetic art with food justice efforts and turning a simple household appliance into a statement of care, visibility, and community love.

Description
This site-specific refrigerator was redesigned into a glowing neo-acid monolith, wrapped in sculptural reflective materials and lit from within. The interior stored fresh produce, dairy, and essential groceries donated by the community. The exterior became a futuristic vessel — refracting reds, greens, and golds in honor of Buchanan’s partnership and the mission to bring visibility to mutual-aid efforts in Miami.
As the fridge opened, the warm red interior glowed like a heart, reinforcing the message: care is a shared resource.
“when we build for each other, we build light.”

Artist Reflection
This piece pushed me into a space where art meets survival. I wanted to give Miami something functional, something beautiful, something that said you are cared for.
The fridge became more than an object — it became a heartbeat for the neighborhood. Every apple, every gallon of milk, every donation lit the interior with a new vibrational frequency.
