Haiii-Moiiible (2018)

HaiiiMobile, a monumental kinetic light sculpture by Haiiileen, was unveiled as part of the artist’s solo exhibition LightScapes (2018–2019) at the Young At Art Museum. Suspended across four motorized rings, the installation featured over 200 floating acrylic forms and 30 hand-shaped chrome sculptures, glowing with refracted light and color. Designed as an infinite space for meditation and wonder, HaiiiMobile captured the artist’s ongoing exploration of motion, reflection, and the immersive possibilities of light.

HaiiiMobile is a large-scale kinetic sculpture presented as part of LightScapes at the Young At Art Museum. Suspended in layered rings of 16, 14, 6, and 4 feet in diameter, the work features over 200 floating acrylic pieces and 30 hand-shaped chrome sculptures in constant rotation. Powered by multiple kinetic motors, the installation creates a shimmering choreography of reflection, color, and movement.

Viewers experienced the work from a transportive lounge zone, sitting on reflective beanbags designed to disorient perspective and encourage a meditative upward gaze. In this environment, audiences lost themselves in an illusion of infinite space and time.

HaiiiMobile expands Haiiileen’s synesthetic exploration of light as architecture and kinetics as vibration. The layering of scale — from monumental rings to delicate hand-formed elements — embodies her ongoing fascination with multidimensional perception, quantum wave theory, and immersive abstraction. The constant motion suggests a living cosmos, situating visitors as participants inside a resonant field of light, sound, and reflection.

Kinetic light sculpture HaiiiMobile by Haiiileen with 200+ floating acrylic pieces, LightScapes 2018.
  • Signature work within LightScapes (2018–2019), Haiiileen’s first museum solo exhibition.
  • Demonstrates her integration of kinetic engineering into sculptural light environments.
  • Marks a key evolution from static immersive installations to dynamic motion-based environments.
  • Archival value: functions as a precedent for later works exploring movement, infinity, and synesthetic architecture (Rainbow Castle, Solar Portals).
