Flying Haiii All the Time (2022)

Flying Haiii All the Time (2022) by Haiiileen – suspended light sculpture installation with Nanoleaf LED panels and reflective mixed-media design.

Flying Haiii All the Time (2022) by Haiiileen is a suspended light and sculpture installation that transformed the ceiling of a public space into a constellation of glowing, synesthetic portals.

Created in special partnership with Nanoleaf, this work represents the artist’s ongoing exploration of the sky as a metaphor for elevation, imagination, and interdimensional perception. The installation continued Haiiileen’s long-standing dialogue between art, technology, and frequency — using light as a living, emotional medium.

Flying Haiii All the Time is a sculptural constellation of four 4×8 ft panels suspended in the air — glowing portals composed of Nanoleaf smart lighting systems, reflective films, resin, and hand-painted geometry.

Each shape radiates its own color rhythm, activating a choreography of light that shifts through gradients of neon, pastel, and prismatic hues. The piece was designed to immerse viewers from below, encouraging them to look upward and feel suspended in a perpetual state of dream and wonder.

“Portals are now open — this one floats above us, like a reminder that magic is always overhead.” — Haiiileen

  • Sky as Portal: This piece extends the artist’s Portal Series into aerial space, evoking ascension and the infinite nature of perception.
  • Synesthetic Technology: Integration of Nanoleaf LED systems allows the work to breathe and respond dynamically, reflecting emotional energy through chromatic light.
  • Playful Geometry: Each portal mirrors the shape of digital iconography — translating visual language into tactile, luminous forms.
  • Emotional Frequency: The composition embodies the euphoric sensation of being “in flight” — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Flying Haiii All the Time merges fine art with cutting-edge tech to embody the sensation of levity, luminosity, and boundless creation.

  • Suspended Light Sculptures: Four custom-built panels, each with independent LED light mapping systems.
  • Nanoleaf LED Integration: Intelligent lighting technology providing gradient shifts, sound reactivity, and programmable chromatic sequences.
  • Resin & Reflective Film Layers: Sculptural surfaces that refract and diffuse color through multi-angle reflections.
  • Spatial Design: Mounted in open architectural space to create an “overhead horizon” for visitors.
  • Dynamic Lighting System: Programmed cycles mimicking auroras, constellations, and interdimensional color flow.

“Every year I feel like my work floats a little higher — this installation was about ascension, both artistic and spiritual. I wanted to bring the energy of flight, of being limitless, into a shared public space. These are sky portals — alive, vibrating, and always shifting.”

This piece stands as both an evolution and a celebration — connecting the artist’s early Aciiid Trails color systems with new aerial installations that fuse sculpture, technology, and vibrational light.

  • Created in special partnership with Nanoleaf, marking Haiiileen’s first collaboration with a leading smart lighting technology company.
  • Expanded the Haiii-Liiight and Portal series into suspended and aerial environments.
  • Bridged contemporary sculpture and interactive lighting, showcasing hybrid materials and digital adaptability.
  • Demonstrated the artist’s continued integration of light science, synesthetic aesthetics, and architectural installation.
  • Represents a pivotal moment in her exploration of immersive luminosity as a medium for transcendence.

“Flying Haiii All the Time is about feeling light — not just seeing it. It’s about living in that higher frequency of wonder.”
