In 2015, Haiiileen unveiled her Messages from the Beyond installation at Electric Pickle in Miami. Commissioned as a 12 × 12 ft site-specific work, the metallic art environment covered the entire first-floor room in aluminum foil. Haiiileen herself appeared in an aluminum foil dress, merging fashion, body, and space into a reflective performance. The result was an electrifying immersive installation that blurred boundaries between art, nightlife, and futurist ritual.

Description
In 2015, Haiiileen was commissioned to create a site-specific installation inside Miami’s iconic Electric Pickle. Transforming a 12 × 12 ft room on the first level, she covered the space entirely in shimmering aluminum foil, creating a dazzling metallic world. Wearing an aluminum foil dress, Haiiileen herself became part of the installation, blurring the boundaries between fashion, body, and environment.
The installation also included a static sculptural piece, further electrifying the reflective chamber into an immersive work titled Messages from the Beyond. Audiences entered a mirrored, futuristic dreamscape where light, fashion, and materiality converged in a performance made to dazzle and destabilize the senses.
Conceptual Framework
Messages from the Beyond explored themes of reflection, futurism, and cosmic communication. By using a humble, everyday material like aluminum foil, Haiiileen elevated the mundane into a shimmering otherworld. The foil room acted as both stage and portal, where her body-as-sculpture amplified the work’s play on light, imagery, and transformation.
This installation continued her ongoing dialogue with fashion as performance, where costuming and environment merge into a single immersive spectacle. The “beyond” in the title evokes her experimentation with unseen messages — from cosmic frequencies to subconscious signals refracted through materiality.
Archival Significance
This 2015 commission at Electric Pickle stands as a landmark in Haiiileen’s early installation and performance practice. It prefigures her later explorations of immersive environments (Interdimensional Baths, Sunset at Noon) and demonstrates her ability to transform nightclubs and social spaces into sites of futuristic, participatory art.
The work is historically important in the trajectory from Miami nightlife interventions into Haiiileen’s larger-scale projects under Rainbow Oasiiis, embodying her signature blend of synesthetic spectacle, sustainability, and performative presence.
